Can you see through sheer curtains at night?
During the day, sheers give you good privacy while still letting light in. At night, when interior lights are on and it is darker outside, sheers become more see-through. If night-time privacy matters, we recommend layering your sheers with blockout curtains or blinds on the same window, a very popular setup in Auckland homes.
Do sheer curtains block heat and UV?
Sheers reduce glare and filter a meaningful amount of UV, which helps protect floors and furniture from fading. They are not a full thermal barrier on their own, so for hot, sun-facing rooms we often pair them with blockout curtains or recommend a tighter-weave sheer fabric.
